UIC College of Business Administration Website

Here’s how Mightybytes turned a challenging situation into a meaningful solution within a tight timeframe.

Founded in 1966, the College of Business Administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is a research institution with a diverse student body that promotes entrepreneurship through real-world experience. Their MBA program is regularly recognized as one of the top 25 programs in the country. Mightybytes jumped at the chance to work with UIC again on a website upgrade, having previously partnered with the UIC College of Medicine on the award-winning Chicago Diabetes Project website.

A Project Setback

The UIC College of Business Administration’s primary goal in overhauling their website was to implement a website using the Sitefinity content management system (CMS), a CMS that a number of UIC divisions use. UIC had originally contacted another vendor to create this website, but that vendor didn’t deliver. Having previously worked with Mightybytes, their team asked if we could help them complete the project.

A Quick Site Build

While a situation like this isn’t optimal, we pride ourselves on being flexible enough to meet client needs and provide critical, timely support under challenging circumstances. Mightybytes skinned the site with a previously completed design, and customized the content management system to include drop-down menus, specific sidebar functionality, and news and events content features.

A Tight Turnaround

The College of Business Administration was able to complete the project as expected on a tight deadline in spite of the setbacks experienced with their previous vendor. Because Mightybytes had experience with their existing content management system, the UIC College of Business Administration was able to continue to use the tools they had already paid for, and with which the staff was familiar. 

A Happy Client

The updated site makes it easy for current and prospective students, alumni, and staff to find information about programs, classes, and upcoming events. The staff at UIC responsible for updating the website can now do so with ease. This was a project in which Mightybytes team really shined, turning a disappointing experience with a previous vendor into a success.
